Executive Leadership

Senior decision makers are the public face of the organization, the people who answer to boards and/or regulatory bodies, take responsibility for the authenticity of financial reporting, manage sharply divergent constituencies, choose strategic priorities, and make ultimate decisions on the allocation of resources. Decisions made at the top can only be as good as the information/options presented by senior leadership teams, who need to be high level critical thinkers and skilled managers of people. Executive Leadership is a retainer-based program designed to help senior leaders and their direct reports keep strategic initiatives, people, resources, and outcomes in balance. EL also helps leaders negotiate a definition of "success" which is not about being tough enough to prevail, but being deft enough to prevail at reasonable cost to all stakeholders.
Emerging Leaders
According to an article in the June 2005 Harvard Business Review, the fully loaded costs of turnover reach an estimated $50,000 per employee across all US jobs and industries. Talented employees are more likely to leave when they are bored, blocked from rapid advancement, underutilized, or underpaid relative to their overall contribution to the business. To balance the "grass might be greener" curiosity that tempts your most valuable people, KCG recommends a systematic professional development program for your aspiring and emerging leaders. That program includes both one-on-one mentoring on how to exercise power responsibly and productively; explicit skill building in areas of communication, conflict resolution, and project management; training on how to use financials to drive business decisions; and expansion of participants’ strategic thinking capabilities. We help you identify the future leaders of your organization, keep them challenged, and create measures that accurately assess their contribution. In terms of outcomes, you’ll have a much deeper bench of talent from which to promote people into key positions. And, over time, you’ll successfully shift the focus of your organization from compensating for weakness to supporting success. The Executive Leadership and Emerging Leaders programs are headed by Sally Mechur, Senior Consultant.
